​Congratulations to Steve Lynch of St Johns Wood Strollers on winning the Brain of Sport online quiz that took place over 6 weeks during the summer. Around 90 people took part including Tim Westcott also of St Johns Wood and Simon Woodbridge of Kingmeadow. The standard is quite high with players all around the world participating including a few who have appeared on Mastermind over the past few years. This was the second edition of Brain of Sport and I would highly recommend our members to give it a go next year. Once again well done to Steve and a great testimony to our long standing sports quiz league to have a representative as the overall champion.

On that note I would like to point out that The Woking & District Sports League had an article published in the local Woking News & Mail newspaper dated 10 September 2026 celebrating our 35 years with a brief history of the league and encouraging new teams or players to contact us if interested in joining.

Finally, as a reminder next Thursday 24 September sees the opening night of the 2026/27 season, which will be our 36th full year (as season 2020/21 was abandoned due to Covid19).
